Veteran actor Tissa Bandaranaike passed away


Veteran actor Tissa Bandaranaike passed away yesterday (20) at 65 after a long illness. The stage is an actor who has contributed to memorable roles in all three genres of teledrama and film. He became more famous for his portrayal of monks. Born on March 8, 1954, Tissa Bandaranaike was educated at Stamford College, Kiribathgoda.



Tissa Bandaranaike is a father of two daughters. Mr. Bandaranaike has acted in teledramas such as Kahala Nadaya, Alubanduna, Girikula, Mahathala Hatana, Yugavilakkuwa, Sansare Piya Sathana, Sita Nivana Katha as well as films such as Bhavaduka, Wekanda Walawwa, Nil Diya Yahana, Igilena Maluvo and Davena Vihangun.

Dictator, Dragon, White Terror, 300 stage plays. The body of Tissa Bandaranaike will be laid to rest at No. 16/1, Jaya Mawatha, Makola South. The last rites will be performed at Sepala Cemetery, Kelaniya, today (21) at 6.00 pm.
